John Woo and SUPERMAN'

Hey folks, Harry here. When last we talked bout the Man of Steel... there was a new development regarding the possible storyline... things had shifted away from SUPERMAN/DOOMSDAY... and I reviewed the short treatment by Kieth Giffen detailing a film where SUPERMAN and LOBO our brought together on screen. Now, the below would-be scooper comes to us with JOHN WOO as a director name. And as I read his story I decided to check it out, and sure nuff... InHollywood.Com did confirm that John Woo was 'interested' in Superman as of October 3rd of this year. Two months have gone by... WINDTALKERS is moving along nicely for Woo I hear... is this the next BIG project for WOO? Can the fanboy drool and slobber be coming true... will we see a John Woo directed SUPERMAN VS LOBO film? Or is this all bunk? Only Time will tell. Giffen's treatment is being further developed I'm told... Does John Woo have any fingerprints on it... we'll be looking closely!

Thought it might be every fan boy's wet dream to know that John Woo is in talks to direct Superman; you can even confirm that he's interested with inhollywood.com Now, Harry, I know you once expressed your feelings that the Wachowski's should be helming this film; well, they derived much of their visual style from Woo...M:I-2's weak storyline and lack of violence aside, John Woo is still a master at executing brilliant action sequences (more so than those Matrix hacks); just think about the last act of Mission Impossible II. Yes, Peters is still involved. But I think were you to give him a chance and read up on him, even in a book like Hit & Run (text which contains seething hatred of him), you'd learn that he is still credited with the first Batman's success due to his involvement as a "creative producer". You and a lot of geeks prefer Batman Returns, huh? Fine. But most, general, audiences didn't. All we really need is for Woo to supervise a good screenwriter, ditch cage and cast the perfect "Man of Steel" and we're in business. Come on. You, me, WB, comic book reader, kids, the moviegoing public...we all want to beleive a man can fly.
