Hey, all. "Moriarty" here. There's been a flood of e-mail into the Labs today about something, and I want to just address it quickly. USA TODAY broke a story today that I can confirm as fact. George Clooney will be producing a live television version of THE THING, based on the original J. Campbell short story "Who Goes There?" To my mind, this is outstanding news. It's one of the seminal stories of horror, a brilliant slice of paranoia that perfectly loans itself to being reinterpreted as a live broadcast. There's a claustrophobia to the story that should work really, really well. I give much credit to Clooney and to Maysville Prods. for tackling this piece of material instead of something tame and easy as a follow-up to FAIL SAFE. I will be sure to keep you posted as this project develops. It's one of the top COAX priorities for me.
