Frank Miller's Nancy Callahan to play Sue Storm in the FANTASTIC FOUR flick!

Hey folks, Harry here... The Hollywood Reporter is saying that Jessica Alba has landed the role of Sue Storm, the Invisible Girl in the upcoming Fox production of the FANTASTIC FOUR!

She's definitely a hottie or rare compare, and after her work on Robert Rodriguez & Frank Miller's SIN CITY, Robert has been non-stop showering of praises about her performance as Nancy Callahan... and personally... I'm waiting for the bare ass hanging out the back of her chaps shot that I've heard so much about.

Now Jessica's Sue will be Chris Evans' Johnny Storm's sister... and from the script, the real plum role of this film is Johnny Storm. Having read a draft from about 2 months ago, I can say the Fantastic Four as characters are all nailed dead on. I mean absolutely note perfect. As for Ioan Gruffudd and Michael Chiklis as Reed Richards and Ben Grimm, as well as the rest of the quad's casting... I'm not really sure what to think. I'm not entirely familiar with their television work, and am a tad jittery, because they're not really known commodities to me. However, having said that, that's what excites me. There's a chance that these actors will simply be Mr Fantastic, The Human Torch, Invisible Girl and of course, the ever-loving blue-eyed Thing!

Now... as Dr. Doom... I'm hearing that Ray Liotta has landed the role, that most of us will like least. Not that Liotta couldn't play the hell out of Dr. Doom... it's just that the character is a faint shadow of the emerald cloaked tin can. Key issues that I have with the draft I read, which has continued to be worked on, is that... by losing the Foreign Head of State nature of Dr. Doom... you lose a degree of majesty, the exotic feeling of the character, and the worse case scenario of a petty dictator with weapons of mass obliteration and the personal power of a God. Instead, he's been reduced to a jilted vain lover with a lot of money and a freak. Having said that... I'm sure Liotta, if indeed he has signed as I've heard, is more than capable to raise the material above where it is now.

Overall... I'm still a tad nervous about the project, but I hear that Tim Story is indeed passionate about the material and is coming from a very good place. That he isn't BARBERSHOP-ing it out, and is fighting the fight to bring it closer to the comic, rather than pushing the pulp and stapled origins further and further away. I'm sure we'll find out more from Quint when he attends the panel on FF at Comic Con here soon. Personally, I can't wait to hear about it all!
