Sci-Fi's FARSCAPE Marathon!!

I am – Hercules!!

Of all the shows about starships, “Farscape” has by far the most muppets. “Roj Blake” dissects the Sci-Fi Channel’s big Friday marathon:

Farscape Chain Reaction

Well, Friday, May 31st could well be the answer to your quandary: beginning bright and early at 7 AM (Eastern) and lasting through the wee hours, the SciFi Channel presents a whopping 23-hour “Farscape” Chain Reaction.

Fans Favorite Sexy (!?!?) Episodes (As voted on by fans at SciFi.com)

  • 4 am - A Human Reaction (S1)
  • 5 am - The Locket (S2)

The “Infinite Possibilities” and “Into the Lion’s Den” two-parters are near-perfect Farscape 101.

For those searching for something on the less traditional side: “Eat Me,” offers up the ‘Scape equivalent of “Night of the Living Dead” meets Hannibal Lector; “Scratch ‘N Sniff” is “Farscape” on LSD; “I-Yensch, You-Yensch” is ‘Scape ala Tarantino; “Out of Their Minds” (a long-standing fan favorite) gives the oft-used body/brain-switching concept a humorous spin; and “A Human Reaction” featured everyone’s favorite astronut, John Crichton, returning to Earth in a very “Twilight Zone”-ish kinda way.

Perhaps it is pathos as opposed to zaniness you crave?: “Relativity” equals “Mommie Dearest”; “Incubator” (Roj’s personal fave from Season 3) sheds some empathetic light on the villainous Scorpius; “The Way We Weren’t” (another fan fave) showcases a previously unseen side of heroine Aeryn Sun; “Green Eyed Monster” (written by series star Ben Browder) is one of the talkier, character-driven installments; the “Look at the Princess” trilogy is as Shakespearean as the show’s ever gotten; and finally, “The Locket” guarantees to tug at your grizzled heartstrings.

Ol’ Roj recommends breaking out your favorite stimulant Friday morning and overdosing yourself on SciFi’s “Farscape”.
